Moving forward again

I managed to do a couple things last weekend. First and foremost was I got through organizing about half the garage area. I am still working on getting the rest of the stuff sorted into a garbage pile, but I now have a lot more room to move around and work on stuff.

Second was getting the process started to get internet at the house. This will be installed later today, and will be the first time in a few years that I have had it while home. It just wasn't that important, but this will...

the fornt axle taredown

Got up early today and started the taredown of the front axle to R&R the ball joints. It seems spent more time and money on buying new tools today then actually working on the truck. It was all torn apart by 10 am. I have never worked on a 4wd before so I took my time so I will remember how it all goes back together. Currently all new ball joints are installed and knuckles mounted, new rotors installed on the hubs, If NAPA had given me the right u-joints I would have the axles installed. This...

No real update

I have been staying pretty quiet lately, mainly because I haven't accomplished much.

Finally got around to getting the trailer cleaned out last weekend. I had forgotten that I had so much water in there, glad it hasn't been cold enough to freeze and make a mess. I am also working on a deal to get some parts from a guy in Tucson who is parting out a newer version of my trailer. He has a nice stove, heater (forced air), and a real refrigerator to replace my icebox. It is just a matter...

Going medieval on a oil filter

That’s right, I have no idea who put this filter on but they need to be shot. I had to remove the left front wheel to gain access so I could chisel it lose. Here is pic of the filter after I was done with it.




She got the cheap oil on this change (proline 10/40). Thought I would save a few bucks until...
