NP 203 or NP 205???

I now have a 203 which in the other post I tell you guys that it's giving me problems, but I might have access to a 205 for about $200 the guy says it's working fine the only thing is the adapter that I need for the 205 wich runs about $100 then the, shortening and lenghtening of the shafts about another $100 and the gaskets and obviously the time spent on swaping it do you guys think it's worth it???

If I had the money to purchase the 205, I would go for it.
The 205 that is, and if I just happened to have a big wad of cash lying about, I would take the 203 and 205 and mix it up with Off Road Designs Doubler Kit.

But for now, just running my 203.....

leave the 203 in it just as good as the 205 and if down the road you have the money put the 205 behind the 203 with somw help from ORD!!! BBy the way 200 is a bit much for a 205 core which is what your getting,

This is kind of like a Ford vs. Chevy argument. Though the 205 has the "reputation" of being "better" than the 203, if you have been watching the posts for the past couple of months you will have noticed there seems to be more problems with 205 cases posted. Maybe coincidental? Anyway, have had 203's in all 5 of my K5's, one had a rowdy 454 in front of it, and never had a problem, ever.

Its kind of like swapping in a 14 bolt. Don't do it unless you NEED it. Look in the mags at the trucks running big blocks, Dana 60's and 44 inch Boggers...9 times out of 10, that truck will also have a 205 in it. I have a 205 in my Blazer and I love it, but I could probably get by with a 203. If you are going to run 33's or 35's, you'll be fine with either one.

My 203 has proven to be a tight, solid unit. I also like the idea of having 2WD-LOW.
